Ninebot EX Concpet | Movie HMI
Where mobility meets cinematic storytelling.
Created for a cinematic collaboration between Ninebot and actor Yi Yangqianxi, this project explored how HMI concept design and visual effect direction could extend a product into a narrative experience.
My role focused on shaping futuristic interface concepts and special visual moments that connected mobility, emotion, and storytelling.
About this project
-
This project was created for a cinematic collaboration between Ninebot and actor Yi Yangqianxi.
It explored how futuristic mobility design could extend beyond product function and become part of a larger narrative experience.
My work combined automotive HMI concept design with visual effect exploration for film scenes, building a shared visual language between machine, motion, and story.
-
The automotive HMI concept was designed to imagine a future-facing vehicle interface with a strong cinematic presence.
Rather than focusing only on production logic, the work explored mood, clarity, motion, and visual identity.
The goal was to create an interface language that felt advanced, expressive, and emotionally connected to the vehicle’s role within the story.
-
The visual effect concepts were developed to support the film’s atmosphere and strengthen the connection between product and narrative.
These explorations focused on futuristic screen moments, motion-driven graphics, and special visual details that made the vehicle feel more immersive and memorable on screen.
Together, they helped transform the product from a functional object into a cinematic character.
HMI
The HMI concept was developed to imagine a futuristic in-vehicle interface that felt clear, immersive, and visually distinctive.
Beyond functionality, the focus was on shaping a screen language that could express mood, character, and a strong sense of presence within the vehicle.

on HMI
Symbols
Developed futuristic, automotive-inspired symbols and applied glass-material and 3D effects that could scale seamlessly from 2D to 3D, enabling information to be presented in a clear and visually effective way.
Cinematic Visual Direction
Alongside the HMI work, I developed visual concepts to support the film’s atmosphere and storytelling. These explorations focused on futuristic effects, screen-based moments, and graphic details that strengthened the emotional connection between the product and the narrative.
Prototyping Process
This phase was not only about screen refinement, but about continuously shaping the concept vehicle experience as a whole. By placing the interface on real vehicle visuals, the process examined how the HMI could interact with the handlebar environment and create a more believable and immersive user experience.
